2 weeks ago we looked at the smaller 92mm version of this particular cooler. A week later we looked at the Xigmatek Achilles and now it’s time for the HDT-S1283. It looks similar to the HDT-SD964, except this cooler has a 120mm fan instead of the smaller 92mm on the SD964. So far all the coolers we have looked at were performing particularly well and the price/performance ratio is in good shape as well.

The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 has the same packaging as the HDT-SD964. The packaging and the cooler look a bit plain compared to the Achilles we reviewed last week. Although most of the coolers we are looking at look pretty similar, each of the coolers has HDT (Heat pipe direct touch technology) and all are based on similar fin based structures with heat pipes, under the hood there are minor tweaks to set them apart.

What come included with the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 are the mounting components. A 120mm fan with rubber fan mounts instructions, some thermal compound and a small removable spoiler to direct airflow to certain areas around the socket.

  • H.D.T. (Heat-pipe direct touch) technology.
  • Anti-vibration rubber design.

  • Light weight.
  • High performance & easy installation.
  • 120mm highly efficient PWM fan.
  • 3 in 1 application: LGA775 push-pin/K8 & AM2 tool-less clip.
