The X7 X-Station has a small box included that holds the bag with screws and the installation guide. A neat feature is that each screw is color coded. Not necessarily needed but it looks cool nonetheless. The X7 X-Station has room for four 5 1/4″ drives and one smaller floppy drive. It can also hold up to 5 hard drives on the lower compartments.
The X7 X-Station is a pretty basic case and it might even be called an entry level gaming chassis. This case offers the bare minimum and it does it sufficiently. I couldn’t find any sharp edges throughout the inside where you are working most of the time.
It’s important to have a clean looking case. You don’t want to look at messy cables when you open the side panel and you don’t want to obstruct the airflow from the fans. The X7 X-Station has not a lot of ways to hide your cables or route them to your hardware. The case is also a bit on the short side because my drives were nearly interfering with my video cards cooler. The drives can be mounted a bit more to the front but if you have a fan at the front then it won’t go any further. This is a big problem because most hardware nowadays is pretty big and these fast hard drives and fast video cards require cooling. There isn’t a lot of room for additional cooling and if you add more than two drives than it will get very crowded.
