What Comes Included
The Zirconium comes with the usual bits and pieces that comes standard with most of the cases out there. Included are easy fastening rails for hard drives and cd drives. An air duct on the side of the case and some bits and pieces to install the motherboard. The Zirconium has tool-free pci slots, easy to use brackets for sliding out your drives.
First Looks
The Revoltec Zirconium comes in a black version or a silver version. I try to to look at black cases because they match my equipment. The Zirconium has a front bezel that is covered with plates over each other. Only the four top spots are usable for drives, one for your floppy and the other 3 for cd rom drives. two of the remaining three act as a cover up for your ugly drives so that you have a clean front bezel. Push the button and the cd tray will come out through the cover. Another cool feature are the led’s in the plastic line from the top and the bottom. This lit’s ups nicely when in blue.
The top of the front bezel has I/O Ports for easy access. It sports one fire wire connection, two usb connectors, one microphone input and one headset output. This way you don’t have to plug in a wire on the back of your computer. Normally most speaker sets have a headset output in the volume control but it’s still nice to see the extra connections on the front. I personally don’t use them, I’d rather see more usb connectors, because I have a variety of usb products that I occasionally use.
I’m afraid the photos are a bit grainy. The case looks beautiful next to my black lcd screen, but it’s a pain to take photographs of. This is the problem with all black things on a light background. But I’m sure you get the idea. Moving from the front to the side, there are numerous ventilation holes and one 80mm blowhole that has an air duct on the other side. This way, your hot air from your cpu fan is guided directly to the side of the case. This works more efficient than having the hot air spread around the inside of your case.
The back sports one large 120mm exhaust fan to dissipate the heat. It’s an average fan, nothing fancy but it does it’s job. The side panels are all provided with thumbscrews for easy access and that’s all there is to tell about the back. More on the tool-less pci slots in a bit.
