A closer look

The Revoltec Rhodium comes in a black version or a silver version. I try to to look at black cases because they match my equipment. The Rhodium has a front bezel made out of aluminum with a door to hide the bay drives. There is room for four drives and two floppy drives.

I previously stated that most cases arrive damaged because of the weight and postal service playing football with people’s stuff. As you can see the three bay drive covers all came loose. Anyway, the Rhodium has four 5 1/4 bay drives, and two 3 1/2. The bottom of the case also sports a 120mm fan to cool down the hard drives. Now the peculiar thing about this whole case is that you need to remove the entire front bezel before you can install a dvd player. Yes that’s right, the entire front. I’m the type of guy that doesn’t read the instructions manual before I start tinkering with stuff. I had my entire computer installed inside this case before I was left with a dvd player in my hands that didn’t fit through the front bezel.

I can’t believe why they did this. It’s so frustrating to have to remove the entire front before you can install or remove a drive. The funny thing is, is that the drives are all mounted using brackets. This saves time, so you don’t have to screw them onto anything. But before you can actually slide them in, you need to unscrew all the bits and pieces. Sigh.
