The In Win Matrix only has one small 60mm fan just below the 3 1/2 bay and one in the power supply. It’s a bit on the low side. Especially with a case this cramped. It will get hot in there. One external fan would have been nice, but I’m not sure where they should have put it though. You should keep an eye out for the temperatures and install an additional fan somewhere if it gets too hot, but In Win has tested this case thermally to see if it’s sufficient for modern hardware.

The In Win Matrix would have been an ideal candidate for my new HTPC if it wasn’t for the doors not opening if laid down flat. The In Win Matrix is a stunning looking chassis. It’s a first for me to see a case that looks so refined on the outside. The In Win Matrix has some issues. I would have liked to the ability for the case to lie on its side. It would look marvelous underneath my television but I’m afraid it’s not possible. Unless you don’t mind that the doors won’t open. Overall a good looking chassis, again it has its issues but if you are in the market for a stylish HTPC chassis than this is one not to miss!

Final Words

  • Stunning looks
  • Powersupply included
  • Easy access to the internals
  • You cannot have it lay on it’s side
  • Not a lot of cooling inside
  • Included is a 90 degrees VGA cable, but not for DVI
  • Having all the wires guided through the back cover might be a hassle

Yes that would do the trick.

Looks like if you added some standoff feet to the side of the case the front doors would be able to open just fine… Check a hardware store for glide feet for furniture maybe?
