A closer look

The M701-CA is made from ordinary metal which makes it quite heavy, not as heavy as the Antec P180B but it’s far from light. There used to be a run on all aluminum cases a while ago, but it seems that people don’t feel the need for aluminum cases as an advantage over metal cases anymore. Sure it’s more practical if you moving the thing every once in a while. But for example the P180B, it’s heavy, it’s made from metal but has charisma. It looks great, it’s sturdy and resembles quality. I guess that’s a just as important factor.

The M701-CA is your average mid-tower in height but it’s quite deep. This makes motherboard installation and work inside the case a lot more comfortable. A somewhat larger case gives you better wire management, and it doesn’t seem so cramped in there. The M701-CA has some neat features like the extension of the frontports on top that also acts as a blowhole. The front has a door that can swing open for easy access of the drives and if needed you can also remove the entire door with not too much of a hassle.

The Inside

The inside is quite spacious if you ask me. This case has again no removable motherboard tray. What’s up with that? It’s not that difficult to implement that feature and make the case a lot more functional and useful. Although the M701-CA has no removable motherboard tray and it’s only a mid tower it still has room because of it’s depth.

This case comes with sliders that click into the holes of your drives and make installation a lot easier. No screws are needed, simply attach the slider to the drive and slide it right in.

Another feature on this case is the 7 slot card fixer. Again no screws are needed. Plug in your video card, sound card or whatever your using and move the card fixer to it’s original position to hold the card in place.

This case has a total of three fans: two 80mm fans, one on the top, one in the front and one rear 120mm fan on the back. These fans are not that spectacular. But if your a normal user than these will do just fine. Their not that loud and they create a decent amount of airflow inside the case.
