Packaging

Just like the Sonata casing which we looked at here, Antec kept the same white design with the large photo on the sides. This is a lot more vivid than most manufacturer have stuffed their cases in. The case is protected by foam inserts that protects the case of shocks and damage.

The back of the package shows us some information in three different languages about the case inside, it also tells you that it is equipped with a power supply. Once you unpack the case, you’ll discover that it is covered by a protective bag. This way, the shiny paint job of the exterior doesn’t get scratched.

The front

At first sight the Sonata Plus 550 looks no different than the Sonata case except for the different front without the door. But that’s where the similarities end. This case is designed to house everything from dampening material, anti vibration hard drive mounts, slide-able drive brackets and smaller features I haven’t seen all on one case.

The Sonata Plus 550 looks a lot like your ordinary OEM case you get at HP or Dell. But the sleek does it for some, but others might hate it. I’m not sure what I thought of the case at first but I became more fond of it over time. Let’s start of at the front.
