MCR80 Radiator

Swiftech has the capability to give you a dual 80mm radiator setup if you do not have room for a 120mm radiator or you do not wish to use such a big radiator. Having two radiator gives you a visual increase as well because it looks kickass, but does it increase the performance? Swiftech’s MCR80 is based on the black ice micro and swiftech sells them completely with a fan and mounting parts as well.

Specifications

  • 2-pass 80 mm radiator specifically developed for PC CPU and VGA water-cooling
  • Double-row high internal volume design
  • High-gloss acrylic paint finish
  • Tested in our labs and rated for 100 Watts with a 15°C coolant temperature
    rise.
  • 80 mm (3 inch) Copper core consisting of flat tubes for maximum heat conductivity
  • High-density copper fin configuration for enhanced heat dissipation
  • Built-in enhanced depth plenum chamber for increased performance and noise
reduction even when using high-speed 80mm fans.
  • 3/8″ OD inlet and outlet: 1/2″ OD tubing (3/8″ ID) is clamped
over inlet and outlet with standard worm-drive clamps.

The newer versions have the same special click on connectors that all the waterblocks have but I received the older version that still had the copper joints which were fragile, leak sensitive and could be easily bend. I
had to use several tie-rips before it was leakproof which gave me a hard time to install this water-cooling kit. But beside those small problems I really liked these radiators, they were small but powerful. They looked fantastic and the paint looks fantastic as well. The fans were not noisy at all and installation was very easy. Too bad the radiators are quite big in thickness but if you do not have room to fit a 120mm radiator then this is your only choice.
