Rougher surface

It’s hard to tell the difference but the smooth side works excellent combined with the pad surfers, it’s as slippery as ice. However my modified Microsoft Optical mouse with blue led didn’t really liked that surface but it worked perfectly well on the rougher surface. The steelpad also has it’s own anti slip mat included to make sure that your pad isn’t moving around while being in heavy combat playing unreal tournament. The mat isn’t stuck to the bottom of the pad because the SteelPad 4D is doublesided!

Conclusion

It sure isn’t a high end graphic card I’m reviewing, or a modified case by Xoxide but it is something that we all use, a mousepad. Some might love the Everglide pads ( I’m one of them ) or others enjoy working with the Icemat ( Me as well ). The SteelPad 4D is another mousepad in line of the big pile of pads out there. It sure works great, the use of two sides is great but that price tag….. for something that doesn’t really look as great as the Icemat, not to mention the thickness, it’s as thick as any standard mousepad given with your pre configured computer at wallmart. It all goes down to your own taste, you either hate it or love it.

Final Verdict

  • Custom design possible
  • Great looks
  • Works great
  • Pad Surfers work great too
  • Stable on my desk
  • Quite big
  • Modified mouse ( blue led ) won’t work on the smooth surface.
